Despacho or Haywarisqa - is a ceremonial offering. Despachos can contain up to 200 different ingredients composed of a wide variety of elements such as herbs, minerals and flowers each with their own symbolic meaning. They are made with prayers specific to what is needed and great reverence in a ceremony performed by Renée Davenport, an initiate of The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition. The elements are intricately arranged on white paper, infused with sami, bundled up and burned. Despachos are commonly used to attain ayni (sacred reciprocity) and set things right with your place in the world.
Shamans also use them to feed their connections to the sacred as an offering of thanks or supplication sent to the Nature Spirits, Originating Mystery or Great Source of all Creation. They can be offered for a variety of reasons including but not limited to milestones in life such as birth, birthdays, graduations, weddings, new business ventures, new partnerships of any nature, new endeavors you wish to undertake, blessing a new home or place of business, blessing a particular place on the planet you feel an alignment to or a new member to your family, for creating and supporting emotional well being, healing, releasing old inhibiting beliefs or letting go of past situations or traumas that no longer serve your ability to walk-in beauty upon this Good Earth or to honor a beloveds death and their soul’s passing with ease back into the light of creation. This offering is traditionally burned, buried, or released to a lake, ocean or other moving body of water depending on the meaning and purpose of the offering. This ceremony will never be conducted for ill will or to negatively influence someone else.
The despacho ceremony can be performed either live streaming on Zoom, or recorded with photos, which would be shared with you via email.
